SALES MANAGER BENELUX & EXPORT

Maintaining good relations with (key) accounts and looking for new opportunities within the business will be your challenge.
In this role you are responsible for Sales in Benelux & Export of sodium, potassium and magnesium silicates, produced at various locations of PQ in Europe. Export areas are mainly East Europe and/or Mid East. Market development in Benelux & Export also is part of your scope as is the introduction of modified silicates to existing and new applications. You also manage a selected group of large key accounts in Europe.
You realize the sales budget per area which consists of negotiations and transactions either directly with end users or through agents and distributors. You follow and respond to relevant developments in the area, searching for new prospects and sales targets. Furthermore you will monitor sales versus budget and reporting about the progress and development of sales.
You will also try to find new applications for silicates. Developing and maintaining the technical knowledge base required to be responsive to the market place is also your responsibility. In cooperation with R&D, technical service and market development managers you will develop new modified silicates that meet customer requirements. You will also introduce these products in the market. You will supply customer service by specific application testing, customer problem solving, guidance, introduction and testing of new modified silicates, too.
Key account Management
Coordinating international sales to a group of key accounts is a main responsibility. Developing, implementing and monitoring sales strategy for each account. Therefore you will work closely together with the inside sales desk in order to ensure that sales related administrative work gets done and your customers remain satisfied.
You have a Bachelor or Master degree within a technical area and minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a commercial position in the chemical industry. As a person, you are emphatic, energetic, result driven and independent. You have a down to earth mentality and a pragmatic way of approaching your challenges. Your English, German and Dutch are fluent. Excellent communications and negotiation skills and you are known as a dedicated team player who is flexible and who would rather ask for forgiveness than permission. Last but not least, you are international oriented and you are willing to travel circa 40% of your time.
